BROOKHOUSE caused an upset in the All Saints Indoor Cricket League KO Cup when beating Warmsworth by nine runs.
Batting first, Brookhouse made 101-3 thanks to good batting from Andy Brock (27), Jamie Elliot (18) and Adam Bryant (19). Promising junior Aaron Horsfield claimed 2-14.
Raj Kundra (40 not out) and the in-form Tom Whitaker (25 not out) starred for Warmsworth. Barnby Dun progressed into the semi-finals with a win over Parklands. Jay Horne (40 not out) top-scored for Dun. Reg Strawbridge claimed 3-11. Parklands lost their way and lost by 20 runs after openers Khail Khan (25) and Graham Langford (26) had given them a solid start. League Champions Rossington Main (127-3) beat Hatfield Main in a one-sided quarter-final. Stewart Groves (25) and Scott Wood (26) were the main contributors. Hatfield were never in the hunt in their reply.
Sunday’s semi-finals see Hatfield Town play Brookhouse and Barnby Dun take on Rossington Main.
A separate Plate Cup for the losers sees Parklands play Hatfield Main for the right to play Warmsworth in the final.
