T20 sides seek trip to Scarborough

SHEFFIELD Collegiate and Doncaster Town will host two of the four Yorkshire League Twenty20 group tournaments being staged on Sunday.

The one at Abbeydale is a three-team group featuring Collegiate, Sheffield United and Barnsley and they will play on a round-robin basis.

At 10am Collegiate play United and at 1pm the losers will then play Barnsley. At 4pm, Barnsley will play the winners of the first game.

At Doncaster’s Town Fields, there are four teams with Doncaster and Rotherham Town opening proceedings at 10am then Castleford facing Hull at 1pm. The two winners meet in the final at 4pm.

The other groups are at Appleby Frodingham and York respectively.

The winners from each of the four groups go into Finals Day held at North Marine Road, Scarborough on Sunday, July 15th.

The winner on that day will represent the Yorkshire League at the Area Final of the ECB National Twenty20 competition at Skegness on Sunday, August 5.
