A MARVELLOUS knock of 68 not out from Steve Foster took Treeton, representing the South Yorkshire League, into the Regional Final of the ECB National Twenty20 competition at the expense of Barnsley.

In the round-robin format of the Area Final (held at Skegness CC) both had beaten Bracebridge Heath, the Lincolnshire League representatives, and so their meeting was a decider with Barnsley - representing the Yorkshire League - making 127-6 (Matt Wilson 37no, Simon Widdup 24, Greg Norton 4-24).

After being 28-3, Treeton recovered with Foster hitting 3 sixes and 4 fours in his 57-ball, unbeaten 68 and sharing a century stand with Chris Cobb, 33no as they reached 128-3 with six balls to spare.

The Regional Final is on August 19 with the winners going into the televised National Final.
