In very soggy conditions at Beauchief, Parkhead - top of the Yorkshire and Derbyshire League Division One table - hit 144-5 (A Burkinshaw 49), before De La Salle surrendered meekly to end at 69-5. Hollinsend Meths made 138-9 and then dismissed Sheffield Centralians for 102. Hollinsend move second, but are over 30 points behind the leaders. Bottom club Ashford in the Water scored 151-7 at Holmesfield, who were made to fight every inch of the way before winning by a single wicket (N Rosling 56 J Pearson 50*). Sheffield Civil Service were dismissed for just 107, but then shot down Apperknowle for a mere 73 (J Clark 4-18 R Horne 4-9). Stocksbridge staggered to 96-8 (M Sharma 5-22), but then sent back University Staff for 80 (A Hibbert 6-12) as Staff sink ever closer to the relegation zone.
In Division Two, the clash between the top two went the way of Totley as they successfully chased down the 199-9 set by Hallam III.
Baslow racked up an impressive 230-9 (G Poole 73* A Fairburn 4-52), University Staff II replied with spirit to close at 215-9. Benthic Grindleford struggled to 97 all out (D Harlington 5-20), then near neighbours completed an easy eight wicket win (P Boot 48*). Promotion chasing Hundall hit a useful 196-8 (W Newton 83*) and then bowled out Hollinsend Meths II for 138. Sheffield Collegiate VP were 132 all out (N Khan 4-32) and Hathersage won by three wickets to keep them in touch with the top of the table.
