SACHIN Tendulkar still awaits his hundredth international 100 after being dismissed for 73 in the final over of the second day of the First Test against Australia in Melbourne.
After emerging to a hero’s welcome from the Aussie crowd, India’s golden boy showed his class in a 98 ball innings that included eight fours before Siddle bowled him in a fiery late spell.
With Rahul Dravid 68no and Virender Sehwag making 67, India closed on 214-3 after Australia made 333 (Ed Cowan 68, Ricky Ponting 62). At one stage they were 214-6. Zaheer Khan took 4-77.
n In Durban in the Second Test, South Africa were all out for 168 after Sri Lanka made 338. Jacques Kallis was out third ball whilst Jacques Rudolph made only seven. Sri Lanka were 7-1.
