Phil in Yorkshire return

.

.

Former Australian Test left hander Phil Jaques is returning to Yorkshire.

The 32-year-old played for the county in 2004 and 2005 and later had three seasons at Worcestershire.

Jaques has retired from first class cricket in Australia and says he is coming back to England for family reasons. He joins as an ‘English’ player as he holds a UK passport, his parents being English.

He played 11 Tests for Australia making three hundreds.

The date for MCC President Philip Hodson as guest speaker at Wombwell Cricket Lovers Society has changed to Thursday, February 16. His spot on February 9 is taken by John Shepherd, the West Indian all-rounder who played for Kent. Meeting is at Ardsley Oaks WMC (7.45).
