MONTY Panesar got among the wickets to push his Test claims on the second day of England’s final warm up game against the Pakistan Cricket Board XI in Dubai.
The left armer spun his way to a five wicket haul, taking 5-57 in 21 overs. Graeme Swann had just a solitary wicket in his 21 overs.
England rather let the PCB off the hook. They had them at 119-8 but a ninth wicket stand of 54 and then a further 27 from the last pair enabled the PCB to declare on 200-9. Chris Tremlett took two wickets and Graham Onions one.
It meant England led by 69 before Andrew Strauss, 36no, and Jonathan Trott, 39no, took them to 82-0 at the close.
