DONCASTER Town coasted to an eight-wicket win over Hatfield Nomads in their Doncaster & District Evening Infirmary League Division One clash at Town Fields.
Nomads made 105-8 with Karl Buxton hitting 58 not out. Amit Kundra 2-1, Luke Sykes 2-8 and Luke Townsend 2-15 claimed six of the wickets to fall.
An unbeaten 67 by Alex Gosney steered Town to 107-2. Connah Pattison bagged 2-21.
Peglers posted a 26-run win at Rossington. Peglers made 136-4 with Matt Smethurst 48, Gulrez Rehman 32 not out and Ross Adamson 28 all making an impact. Scott Wood (2-37) was the pick of the Main attack.
Wood (27) also led the way with the bat in Main’s reply of 110-7. Matt Smethurst took 3-9 and Tom Hyde held four catches.
Barnby Dun picked up a 63-run Division Two win at Hatfield Open.
Steve Barnes 45, Lewis Memhorn 44 not out and Mark Wilkinson 21, provided the bulk of Dun’s 144-5.
Adam Wilkinson 2-6 and Dave Barret 2-8 helped restrict the home side to 81-9.
Yorkshire Main recorded a 61-run win at Fenwick.
The highlight of Main’s 154-5 was a superb 99 by Briggs. Fenwick were 93-7 in reply.
Adwick-le-Street slumped to an 80-run derby defeat at home to Brodsworth.
Brodsworth closed on 150-7 with Mick Rogerson jnr (54 not out), Danny Simpson (34) and Adam Cutmore 26 not out, leading the way. Chris Jeeves 3-14 and Jamie Walton 3-15 shared the bowling honours.
Alec Elliott took 2-7 and Mick Cassinelli 2-18 in Adwick’s reply of 70-4.
Hatfield Main beat Division Three hosts Straco Recruitment by 25 runs
Andrew Moores 56 and Andrew Stuart 33 laid the foundations for Main’s match-winning 139-6. Ant Cator 3-24 was the pick of the Straco attack.
Russ Donald 27 and Cator 25 shared the batting honours in the home side’s reply of 114-8. Liam Green 3-26 and Adam Berriman 2-5 did the damage.
Parklands beat visiting Sykehouse by six wickets. John Hill 19 and Phil Townsend 16 top-scored for Sykehouse in their 88-9. Jack Bonser 3-9, Reg Strawbridge 3-16 and Lee Cullingworth 2-9 combined to put the skids under the visitors. Graham Langford cracked an unbeaten 64 in Parklands’ reply of 92-4. Marc Bellwood grabbed 3-6 in 4 overs.
Bentley Colliery had to dig in for an eight-run win at Marr. Colliery’s 130-6 owed much Dave Housley 36 and Nicky Smith 20 as James struck with 3-9 in four overs. Ashurst 48 and Ady Parkin-Coates 39 were the mainstays of Marr’s spirited reply of 122-9. Eddie Wilburn 4-29, Nicky Smith 3-6 in four overs, and Williams 2-27 helped win the day for Colliery.
