He struck 108 of his side’s 261-4, Christi Viljoen adding an unbeaten 77. However, Elsecar replied with their best batting performance so far and 263-4, Ainsley Swallow 74 and Chathura Athukorala following his 3-66 with an unbeaten 51.
Whitley Hall couldn’t apply the KO to hosts Barnsley, who hung on at 134-7 teenager Jake Malkin hitting a defiant 64,after Whitley’s 233-5. Jaco Castle struck 67, Jim Tasker 49 with 45 from Alex Fletcher.
Steve Foster hit 119 in Treeton’s 218-7, Danny Kemp striking 70, before seeing off Rockingham for 151, Foster then claiming 5-28. Mark Wilkinson hit 64 for the losers.
Houghton Main reached 233-5 at Aston Hall, largely thanks to Steve Secker, 111, and Ashley Vickers, 76, too many for the home side who closed on 185-9, Rob Ward 54, Syad Asif 5-58.
Bradfield had three wickets in hand after passing Hallam’s 171 Richard Neal 50. Matt McGillvaray, 68no, and Daryl Williams 51, led the way for Bradfield. Hallam’s Humphrey Emery took 5-49.
