Durham in control

Paul Collingwood’s first Durham century since making six in 2005 put the LV County Championship leaders in command against struggling Yorkshire at Chester-le-Street.

Collingwood, the former England all-rounder, hit 108 to help Durham to 408 for eight declared, a lead of 223, and in seven overs Yorkshire reached 13 without loss in their second innings.

Rapid half-centuries from Gordon Muchall, Phil Mustard and Scott Borthwick helped Durham make up for the loss of a day and a half by scoring at 5.24 an over on a day when Yorkshire dropped six catches.
