Derbyshire’s ambitious ground redevelopment plans have moved a step closer to reality after the county announced the appointment of architects and project managers for the scheme.
The club outlined proposals for a £2.5million revamp of the County Ground earlier this year.
Derbyshire have already received £300,000 of the £1m ground development fund they were awarded by the England and Wales Cricket Board after being commended by the governing body for on- and off-field strategies.
They are now looking for sources to augment that funding to build a new media centre, acquire the freehold to the Gateway Centre - which houses their conference suites - and improve other facilities.
Architects Pick Everard and project managers Armsoms, who are both long established in the Derbyshire area, have now been appointed to oversee plans for the proposed development.
