Mark Cummins hit 91 not out and took four wickets as Sheffield United beat Castleford in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League.
Cummins carried his bat in an innings of great patience. His brother Paul Cummins added 39 of the 174 total.
In the Castleford reply of 100 Simon Parker and Will Simpson were the only scorers of any significance with 28 and 27 with Mark Cummins taking four 20. Sheffield Collegiate made a useful looking 245-3 against Hull with good knocks from Nicholas Gaywood 71, Alex Patmore 59, Tom Lister 46no and Sam Webber 42.
But Tim Appleyard made a big impression with 93 for Hull, who reached the 248-7 target with one ball to spare to leave Collegiate empty handed.
Barnsley dismissed Driffield for 112 with Oliver Hannon-Dalby taking six for 4. Simon Widdup steered Barnsley home on 113-2 in 21.3 overs with 58 not out.
Rotherham looked set to win at Cleethorpes after James Moorehouse opened with a century but the rain came before they could complete their innings.
With 252 on the board, the game was abandoned and Cleethorpes will have been relieved to be leaving with the three points.
James Stuart hit an incredible 149 from 150 balls for Doncaster but still saw his side lose out after Scarborough battled back. Scarborough had one over to spare as they managed to chase down Doncaster’s 271.
Yorkshire Academy’s game against Harrogate was abandoned with each side taking three points.
