Rotherham Town has had its most successful cricket week with almost 100 children taking part at the Clifton Lane ground.
Supported by the England Cricket Board the week cost just £10 per child for all five days with equipment provided.
Coach Jonny Allan said it has been the best event so far: “We’ve been really lucky with the weather and have seen nearly 100 different children participating as some stage during the week.
“There was an average of around 65 per day from five to 15-years-old, which was really pleasing.
“Everyone has really enjoyed it and hopefully it has created some interest in cricket.”
Young players were given coaching in batting, bowling and fielding on the club’s outfield and in the nets.
There were also a series of games between the players throughout the five days.
The club has three senior teams.
The first team plays in the ECB Yorkshire League, the second team lines up in the South Yorkshire League Division One and the third team is the South Yorkshire League Division Four.
Junior teams compete at under 17, 15, 13, 11 and nine levels.
