Wickersley sealed their eighth top section championship and first since 2005 after a hard-fought away win at Whiston.

The Northfield Lane team contained Whiston to 128-9, Lesroy Weekes and Muhammad Naveed each claiming three cheap wickets, but the away batsmen made hard work of knocking off the required runs, at 129-8, against the bowling of Andy Ivill, 4-41.

Aston Hall enjoyed their home game with Wath, setting a 249-8 challenge with Rob Ward hammering 96, Joe Barker 51 and Uzman Azeem 46. Rob Barlow claimed 4-62 for the Moor Road men, who were rushed out for 126, with the wickets shared by Scott Hibbett and Josh Coulson.

Coal Aston bowled out Upper Haugh for 157, Oavis Youseff cracking 66, with four wickets each for Liam Johnson and James Furniss. They chased down their target comfortably for the loss of just one wicket. Laurence Browse 69 and Andy Lockwood 42.

The outstanding player in Division One was Conisbrough’s Stuart Bellwood, with an unbeaten 92 and a 5-50 return in the match against Norton Woodseats, but Stuart had to be content with second-best as Norton reached 224-7 and held the hosts to 202-9.

Shiregreen only made 141, but dismissed Rotherham Town B all out for 132.
