County 2nd XI for Shaw Lane

YORKSHIRE will stage a second XI County Championship fixture at Barnsley’s Shaw Lane ground.

The three-day fixture will see Worcestershire as the visitors with the game starting on June 26.

Worcestershire seconds played at Shaw Lane before in 1978, when Yorkshire beat them in a two day match by 190 runs.

The South Yorkshire League have allocated venues for their two showpiece cup finals.

The Whitworth Cup final will be staged at Treeton on Sunday, July 29 with a reserve date of August 12 whilst the President’s Cup final will be hosted by Thorncliffe on Sunday, July 22. The reserve date set aside for this final is Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.
