FORMIDABLE batting enabled Treeton to move into the semi-finals of the South Yorkshire League’s Whitworth Cup at the expense of Wath.

They amassed 260-9 with Danny Kemp top scoring with 58 and good contributions from Scott Cunningham 48, Chris Cobb 46 and Greg Wood 41 off 21 balls. Rob Barlow had 4-54.

Youngster Archie Ogden starred with 76 in Wath’s reply of 174, Umaid Asif taking 3-21.

Treeton join holders Whitley Hall and Elsecar in the semis along with the winners of Sunday’s match between Wickersley and Whiston PC

The semi-finals of the Mick Savage Memorial Trophy take place on Sunday when holders Banrlsey B entertain Division One leaders Darfield and league newcomers Kexborough face Norton Oakes.
