Ravi Bopara has an important opportunity to impress in England’s final three NatWest Series matches - but he is adamant he is nowhere near the last-chance saloon yet.
There are a surprising 61 caps on Bopara’s one-day international CV, even though at the age of 26 he has yet to establish himself or lay proper claim to consistent selection.
The current absence of the rested Kevin Pietersen and injured Eoin Morgan provides an obvious opening for a batsman who, like several others, has often found himself shunted up and down England’s ODI order.
“I don’t believe in the age thing or whether it’s your last chance. I’ve got a lot to offer, and a lot in the bank that I haven’t expressed fully on the international stage,” he said.
