DONCASTER-born James Toseland is relishing the prospect of racing in front of his home crowd next week.
Toseland, riding for the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team, can’t wait for the British round of the FIM Superbike World Championship to get underway on July 29 at Silverstone.
The two-time world champion, who has been plagued by injuries in 2011, said: “Racing in front of your home fans on a track like Silverstone is an amazing feeling, so I am looking forward to it.
“I think the circuit’s fast-flowing nature will definitely suit my BMW Motorrad Italia machine and I hope we can do a good job come race day on Sunday. I have been lucky this year to have such loyal support from my fan base back in the UK and they have really helped me through everything. I just hope I can give them something good to shout about.”
The other British riders competing are Eugene Laverty, Leon Haslam, Tom Sykes, Leon Camier and Alex Lowes.
