Cameron's British title win makes Hobson take note
SHEFFIELD'S hottest amateur boxing prospect Liam Cameron was crowned British champion last night.
Steel City ABC's dynamo beat West Ham boxer Dudley O'Shaughnessy 15-2 at the Liverpool Olympia to become national champ at 69kg.
The two met at the Senior ABAs at the beginning of May with a similar result, and last night O'Shaughnessy was unable to work his way through Cameron's defence. The Manor Park boxer was covering up well while delivering the selective scoring punches which are becoming his trademark.
The 18-year-old former Myrtle Springs schoolboy is being closely watched by professional promoter Dennis Hobson.
