A BIT of family business may be settled over the streets of Sheffield city centre this summer.
Rotherham’s Russell Downing has confirmed to The Star that he’d like to take on elder brother Dean during the Elite Series Criterium race in the city on July 27.
Downing senior is the current British champion but is in the sights of his sibling.
“I’m definitely up for the race if I can fit it into my racing schedule,” said Russell, who is currently racing in the Coppa e Bartali in Italy for his Endura Racing team.
“Criteriums are not something I do a lot of and Dean is obviously a specialist at them, but it would be great to race each other in Sheffield,” he added.
Downing, aged 33, has enjoyed a strong start to the season with his new team.
