Woods set to have blood tests

CLINTON WOODS is due to undergo blood tests today as his promoter attempts to find an explanation for his lacklustre defeat to Antonio Tarver in Florida, USA, last Saturday.

Handler Dennis Hobson said: "Clinton's performance was inexplicable and I want some blood tests to see if there was a reason we don't know about as to why he was so flat and his legs so heavy. Maybe he has a virus. There were a couple of people in our hotel who had food poisoning.

"Was he poisoned? I don't know, but something affected him" said the Sheffield promoter.

"He had been moaning about little things – too hot, too cold – a couple of days before the fight. Hopefully blood tests might throw up an answer.

One watching boxer Elvir Muriqi said: "Woods was like a zombie coming at Tarver. Tarver was worn out, he was tired, but Woods wasn't taking advantage."

Woods had a streaming cold today - but refuses to blame that for his "bad day at the office."
