Tragic fight night
STAR readers, Sheffield's boxing community and top band Arctic Monkeys tonight pay their respects to tragic aircraftman Christopher Bridge.
A charity boxing exhibition is being staged at Shiregreen WMC in memory of Christo pher, a 20-year-old serviceman with the 51 Squadron RAF Regiment, who was killed when his vehicle was blown up around Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan in August 2007.
Boxers at Glyn Rhodes's Hillsborough gym, including former world champion Clinton Woods, were moved when they read in The Star that a brass aeroplane left on the grave of Shiregreen serviceman had been stolen.
They set about organising tonight's event from which money raised will to the Help the Heroes fund, which helps Britain's wounded servicemen.
Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Elders, who trains with Rhodes, has donated a prize.
