Kell Brook is a confirmed competitor in a big Liverpool show on March 15.
It should be the Sheffielder’s last outing before squaring off with Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title.
No announcement has been made about who his opponent will be on an event featuring Tony Bellew, who takes on former world cruiserweight title challenger Valery Brudov. It will be the 27-year-old’s first bout since KO’ing Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko in October.
Richard Schaefer, CEO at Golden Boy Promotions told Sky TV’s Ringside that he was looking forward to Brook’s world title shot against Porter.
He said: “This fight will eventually happen. Shawn might have another fight before that but I enjoy a pretty good relationship with (promoter) Eddie Hearn so, when the time comes, I’m convinced that fight will happen and Kell will get his title shot, which unfortunately didn’t happen because of injuries to both Kell and Devon Alexander a year ago.”
