The light middleweight lost his unbeaten record to English champion Nav Mansouri, but his team now want a Commonwealth title crack.

Ross Burkinshaw’s last fight also ended unhappily at Magna, he retired at the end of the fourth round with an elbow injury against Klaas Mboyane as they disputed the WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight title. But he too is back after changing his mind about retiring.

Super Middleweight Liam Cameron is also rehabilitating after a loss, he was outpointed by Luke Blackledge in Blackburn for the Commonwealth title last time out.

Flyweight Waleed Din also hopes to take his record to eight straight wins as he eyes a career-defining fight in America.

Others on Dennis Hobson’s bill include: super bantamweight Muheeb Fazeldin, light welter Leon Field, middleweight Andy White flyweight Kyle Yousaf, super bantamweight Ramzy Nassa, bantamweight Loua Nassa, super middleweight Nicolie Campbell and light heavyweight Kevin Skill.

The local fight scene isn’t inundated with heavyweights, but Christian Kinsiona, who won his debut at the Magna in April is on the card.

*Sheffield light welter Ryan Hardy travels to Northern Ireland to face Philip Sutcliffe Jnr on August 1. A week later, Shiregreen’s Dave Fidler defends his Central Area light middleweight title against Tom Knight in Hull.

The southpaw won the belt at Magna in April.
