Sheffield starlet Dalton Smith requires his passport once again as he bids for more glory.

The Steel City ABC fighter is heading to Croatia, to represent England in the EUBC Youth Championships between October 17-26.

Few teenagers in Sheffield can be as well travelled as the teenager but the travelling is only worth it if he wins. The new scoring system in amateur boxing is suiting his aggressive style and Smith is considered the fifth best in the world at his age and weight.

“It’s a good feeling but it’d be better to be number one,” he said. “London 2012 has made boxing even bigger but hopefully I’ll be going to Rio in 2016. That’s my main goal.”

A championships medal would be considered by Dalton, who has sparred with Luke Campbell, as a career best showing. “Boxing for GB and England is a great feeling,” added Dalton. “I come up short for qualifying for the Youth Olympic games so hopefully this will put it back on track.”
