Shawn Porter says he is looking forward to getting revenge on Sheffield world champion Kell Brook, who took his IBF title in 2014.
The American contests the WBA welterweight title with Keith Thurman on March 12, a fortnight before Brook defends against Kevin Bizier.
Brook has expressed an interest in facing the winner of the contest, in Connecticut.
Speaking to the Boxing News, Porter said:” “I’d definitely like a rematch with Brook. After I win the WBA title, that’s the one thing I’d like, to go for another title.
“So he is in my focus, he is in my firing line. I think a re-match would be even bigger than the first fight, with two world titles on the line. It would be a much bigger spectacle.”
Asked about his points defeat to Brook, he replied: “I think I won the fight. But I don’t really think about it at all; I don’t focus on it. “I’ve watched it a couple of times since, here and there. But no, it’s not on my mind at all.”
Meanwhile Floyd Mayweather thinks the proposed Brook v Amir Khan fight should be made. Negotiations have been going on - but no concrete news has emerged yet.
