Rotherham’s Nav Mansouri is helping title contender Martin Murray’s training camp in South Africa, ahead of his showdown with middleweight king Gennady Golovkin in Monte Carlo.
Murray, from St Helens, challenges Golovkin for the WBA and IBO belts on February 21 in Monte Carlo.
He has spent around a month sparring and training three times a day in the summer heat, alongside the South Yorkshireman, Liverpool’s Rocky Fielding and others in his team.
Mansouri hasn’t boxed since defending his English English super welterweight title against Stairfoot’s Matthew Mallin at iceSheffield, 12 months ago.
Meanwhile Sheffield Ingle lightweight Atif Shaiq, who lost his unbeaten record last November, promises he will be back with a bang in 2015 after his “slight blip” in form.
