Game Killamarsh brawler Lee Connelly is being set up as the next “fall-guy” for Olympic gold medal hero Luke Campbell.
But Campbell, the much vaunted prospect who made his pro debut in his native Hull last month, could be in for a shock.
Connelly, 25, may have a W2 L4 record, but he is brave and durable - and could pull off a shock.
The Chesterfield born boxer is excited and confident about the prospect of fighting Campbell, live on Sky Sports, at Scottish Exhibition Centre, Glasgow, on September 7.
He knows a victory would propel him up the domestic lightweight rankings.
Campbell, who fights out of the St. Paul’s Amateur Boxing Club in Hull, will want to replicate the firt round stoppage he inflicted on Andrew Harris.
But Connelly has never been stopped - and fancies his chances of a surprise result.
