Kell Brook hopes that victory tonight at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge will put him on the road to a domestic tear-up with Amir Khan.

The Owlerton weltwerweight takes on tough Polish operator Rafal Jackiewicz in a WBA wortld title eliminator.

Khan is the WBA super and IBF light-welterweight world-title-holder but Brook says: “Khan is also a possibility because he will be stepping up to welterweight.

“He’s in my sights. The fans want to see me and Amir fight – I want it, but I’m not sure he wants it.

“David Haye might not be fighting again, Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe are gone, and I want to be Sky Sports’ next big boxing star.

“There’s room for a new boxing star in Britain at the moment and I’m going to be clicking into that gap of elite fighters.”
