Canadian Kevin Bizier is almost certainly going to be Kell Brook’s next opponent.

Sheffield’s IBF world champion wants a bigger name, like Timothy Bradley, but Brook’s recent injury - which forced the postponement of the fight with Diego Chaves - means he’ll likely be out until March or April.

Meanwhile, Bizier has done all he needs to do to get in the frame - last month he won a welterweight title eliminator - and is pressing the IBF to meet his demands.

Brook had to face Jo Jo Dan as a mandatory challenger in March - and it is expected of IBF champions to arrange a meeting with their next mandatory opponent within nine months.

The Sheffielder could perhaps skip round that if his camp could arrange a unification bout - Bradley is the WBO champion - but the American’s handlers have been rudely dismissive of the South Yorkshireman, saying he does not have to calibre and profile to trigger a big enough pay day.

Commissioning bodies don’t like their champions to be inactive, so the IBF are likely to accept Bizier’s demands for a crack at Brook’s title.
