Atif Shafiq , Kyle Yousaf and Nadeem Siddique got the Ingle camp off to a fine start on the Bramall Lane Kell Brook v Errol Spence Jr bill this evening.

The Ingles have four boxers on the card, including the world champion Brook.

And Shafiq, desperate for a win after a televised loss at Preston against Andreas Maier in late January, scored in the opening bout at Sheffield United's stadium.

In front of a sparse crowd, he beat 36-year-old lightweight Dean Evans from Hereford, on points.

It was the 23-year-old Rotherham man's 17 win of a 19-fight career.

Shafiq, who has trained alongside Brook in Sheffield and in a hot weather camp in Fuertaventura, was then able to re-hydrate and add his support to Brook's camp, ahead of a dangerous fight against a hungry, keen American welterweight.

His easy win was mirrored by Kyle Yousaf, who beat Louis Norman to record his 11th straight win.

Yousaf, also 23, has a fine future ahead of him, at super flyweight or above.

Nadeem Siddique, at 39, showed his career is still and alive and kicking with a with a third round stoppage, over Pal Olah .

Siddique, a long-time servant at Ingle's Wincobank gym, had previously said the fight would show whether he was a "deluded wannabe" or he he had something to offer the sport. He found out - and will now see how far he can go, with a new lease of life.
