EDDIE Hearn believes a Kell Brook v Amir Khan fight would sell out a 50,000-seater open stadium and guarantee a pay day of millions for each man.
But the promoter doesn’t expect Khan – who attempts to regain his WBA and IBF light welterweight world titles from Lamont Peterson is Las Vegas on May 19 – to take up the offer.
After Brook’s “easy” points win over Matthew Hatton at Sheffield Arena on Saturday, Hearn feels a Khan fight would signal the return of Pay Per View boxing in this country.
But he said Brook would “absolutely destroy” Khan. Brook agreed he would “smash” the Bolton fighter, given the chance.
Saturday’s superb exhibition by Brook saw him receive the ultimate compliment from Hatton.
“He is the best fighter I have faced and I include Saul Alvarez in that,” he said. “Kell is definitely a future world champion.”
