ARGENTINIAN Hector Saldivia says he would not trust a judging panel in England - so must knock out Kell Brook if he is to win at Sheffield Arena on October 20.
The 41-win welterweight’s mistrust came from watching Brook struggle to victory over Carson Jones at the same venue in July.
He thought Jones did enough to win. He told Boxingscene.com: “Because Brook is a local, the decision would make sense in that he would win the fight. If it’s close in our fight, Brook will probably have the benefit of the doubt.
“But I’m going to England trying to win before the 12th round. I want to demolish him. I want to win by a wide margin.”
Saldivia says Brook’s fast left hook was his most potent weapon. But Brook’s weakness was exposed against Jones. The South American claimed: “He doesn’t enjoy being pressured.”
California-based Saldivia says he will arrive in the UK a week before the contest so he can “adapt to the climate.” The fight is an IBF world title eliminator.
n Sheffielders Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins will be on the undercard of Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko comeback on November 24.
