The Sheffield IBF welterweight world champion has been slated for an incredible assault on Gennady Golovkin's middleweight title haul. But the match, at the O2 Arena on September 10, came at the expense of another prospective clash on the drawing board.Brook had been presumed to be fighting Mexican-American Jessie Vargas at Sheffield United's stadium. That won't happen any time soon, and while Vargas is chasing a fight with Manny Pacquiao, he is still sore about losing out a big pay day against Brook."Everyone knows I was going to go to England and fight for a unification" he said on the boxingscene.com website."What I lost is time, he wasted my time."If he wasn't serious about the fight he shouldn't have sat down and negotiated with me and wasted two months of my time. I could have given my fans another fight in July."As fighters, we don't like to waste time. I am very young and I wanted to stay active. But we look to the future and are negotiating a fight with Manny Pacquiao.Asked whether he held a grudge against the Sheffield rival, he replied: "I wouldn't be confident in negotating with him in the future, that's for sure."He said he'd warned at the time of their negotiations that Brook had cancelled fights before, mentioning Devon Alexander and Diego Chaves (injuries.) "To me, he could be a waste of somebody's time" said Vargas, the WBO welterweight champion. He also agreed that the worst disappointment was not getting his hands on the IBF belt, as he claims to be best in the 10st 7lbs division.

Brook has told The Star he will fight at Bramall Lane one day.

*Meanwhile Brook is not fooled by GGG's charming personality.

"He is a gentleman out of the ring a killer inside. He is smiling now but he will mean business when we get in" he told SKY TV in a joint interview.

"Triple GG is going to get the best out of me. I wanted a big drama fight. You will see the very best in me. I've got to hurt him, got to feel my power understand I can hit also. He will realise that."
