DEVON Alexander’s team seem in danger of complacency - they are overlooking Sheffield’s Kell Brook and thinking about the American’s next fight.
American Alexander, 25, defends his IBF title against Brook in Detroit, on February 23.
But Kevin Cunningham, the trainer for welterweight champion is already considering the prospect of facing 41-year-old Californian veteran Shane Mosley.
Cunningham told Ringtv: “Why not Shane? We would love to oblige Shane with a shot at Devon’s IBF title.
“We would like to extend an invitation to Shane to come on out to Detroit on February 23rd and to sit at ringside for our fight.”
Brook is happy that he doesn’t appear to be considered a credible threat to the more experienced Alexander.
“It is great for me that they are being so complacent,” Brook told The Star.
“They are living in cloud cuckoo land. There won’t be any other defence for Alexander. They are in for a shock, from the first bell.
“I will be coming home with that belt and they can do what they like after that.”
Grenoside resident Brook, 26, is currently back with the Ingle team in a warm weather training camp in Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands.
