THE Sheffield Ingle stable have been celebrating an English title after light-heavyweight Bob Ajisafe beat local favourite Darren Stubbs at Oldham Sports Centre.
Ajisafe, from Leeds, claimed the vacant English crowd with a third-round stoppage.
On top from the outset, Ajisafe grew in confidence when Stubbs picked up an early cut to the edge of his left eyebrow and, piling on the pressure, he appeared set for an early win anyway. His opponent suffered another bad cut just below that same left eyebrow, and a halt was called following a doctor’s inspection during the third round.
Doncaster light-heavy James Tucker slipped to a 40-36 points defeat over four rounds to Preston’s Matthew Clarkson.
