BOXING fans attending Frank Maloney's televised promotion at the Doncaster Dome next Saturday could be excused for believing that they are seeing double.
Doncaster's Jamie McDonnell, who makes the first mandatory defence of the European bantamweight title against Belgian Stephane Jamoye in the top-of-the-bill contest, has just seen his twin brother, Gavin, added to the undercard.
Gavin, who hung up his gloves as a 16 year-old, has watched everyone of Jamie's fights.
Jamie was at the ringside when Gavin made a successful professional debut after an absence of eight years, at the Dome last month.
Gavin, who is hoping to emulate Jamie's success, will take on Welshman Chuck Jones in a featherweight clash over four three-minute rounds.
"He is the brother of Barrie Jones, who fought Sheffield's Kell Brook for the British welterweight title," said Stefy Bull, who trains both McDonnell brothers at his Mexborough gym.
"He's a stocky southpaw who comes in and has a go, so it should be a good test for Gavin."
The two brothers have sold more than 400 tickets between them for the historic show.
