MARUSSIA Virgin Racing team principal John Booth is targeting another double race finish in Spain.
Buoyed by a spirited showing in Canada nine days ago where drivers Timo Glock and Jerome d’Ambrosio crossed the finishing line in 15th and 16th position respectively after a rain-soaked Grand Prix, the Dinnington-based team jet out to Valencia tomorrow in preparation for round eight of the campaign.
Booth told The Star: “Hopefully we can get two strong finishes in Valencia and keep working on our pit stops, which are getting better and better all the time. It is going to be very hot; it is a great circuit and I think it is an exciting track for spectators so everybody in the team is looking forward to it.
“It appears the Pirelli tyres are temperature sensitive so if there are high track temperatures in Valencia, which we are expecting, then we will see some high degradation. We thought we were going to see that in Canada but the temperatures turned out to be pretty cool over the weekend.”
Meanwhile, Virgin are offering Formula One fans the chance to attend an exclusive screening of the Senna film, during part of its British Grand Prix activities.
Virgin have now tied up with the film’s backers to offer a showing on the evening after the race while the writer, Manish Pandey, will be on hand to give his insight into the creation of it.
Pandey said: “We worked together with a private viewing in Monaco which was really well received and I know it will be an incredibly receptive audience at Silverstone in a truly magical setting.”
