FORMER University of Sheffield student Zara Dampney says she still hopes to qualify for the latter stages of the beach volleyball tournament.
Dampney, aged 26, who studied law in Sheffield and partner Shauna Mullin have been one of the big hits of the Olympics. However, defeat yesterday against Italy on Horse Guards Parade has left them needing to win their final match against Russia tomorrow.
She said: “There were some good plays and we’ve got to focus on the positives. We’ll be fixing whatever it was that went wrong.”
