Battling Marhi keeps Manor in the Formula 3 fast lane

MANOR Motorsport's Roberto Merhi was again in impressive form during the latest round of the Formula 3 Euroseries at Germany's Norisring.

The Spaniard is fourth in the drivers' championship after crossing the line fifth during the weekend's opening race despite seeing the weather hamper his efforts in qualifying.

Merhi was in fourth position at one stage before a slight misjudgment allowed Esteban Gutierrez to pass him on lap 14.

The teenager again spearheaded Manor's challenge during Sunday's event but his race wasn't without incident.

Managing to come from fourth on the grid into the lead on lap five, Merhi slipped back following a safety-car period and eventually finished eighth.

Team mates Cesar Ramos and Pedro Enrique secured 10th and 20th places respectively.

Manor Motorsport principal John Booth said: "We had a very good day, Roberto did a fantastic job from where he started, as did Pedro and Cesar – we were really pleased with the all-round team performance."
