“We have been knocked around this season with unfortunate injuries,” said Sharks’ head coach, Atiba Lyons.

“Tony Wroblicky going down with a broken hand was a big hole to fill and Kellen will add skill and toughness to our frontline,” he added.

With the pending return of those key injured players in Wroblicky and Jordan Davis, Sharks’ depth should improve and so the club has taken the decision to part company with guard Cardell McFarland, who has left the club with immediate effect.

“We signed Cardell initially on a temporary basis when Jordan sustained a serious injury. He did a great job for us and we wish him well with his next position,” continued coach Lyons.

“There are only so many spots and we are committed to Jordan and his return to full fitness is imminent, so Kellen can now come in and complete the roster.”

Sharks will not return to action until Friday 16 December where they will face Yorkshire Rivals Leeds Force.

The game will be televised on the BBC Sport website, BBC Sport app and on Connected TV.
