Sharks completed the deadling-day signing of point guard Max Guercy.
The 5ft 9ins player, who concluded his collegiate career at Rice University last year, is relishing the prospect of embarking on a new challenge.
Guercy said: “I am very excited to be in Sheffield and joining the Sharks. Coach [Atiba] Lyons made my role clear and I just want to do what I can to help this team to win a championship.”
Guercy spent four years at Rice University, finishing the all-time leader in assist and assist to turnover ratio. He began this season in the Czech Republic with NH Ostrava.
Lyons said: “I wanted to bring Max in to add depth and another primary point guard to share the load with Jordan Davis.
“Max is a hard-nosed and tough defender that will bring energy and add pressure on our opponents on both ends of the court.”
Guercy goes straight into the squad for their away double-header with Bristol and Plymouth this weekend.
