SHEFFIELD Sharks have confirmed that Canadian forward Mike Tuck will return to the club for a fourth season.
The popular Tuck has been one of Sharks’ coach Atiba Lyons’ most important players with his scoring and rebounding ability at the centre or power forward position.
Tuck said he’s pleased to be back in the city ready for the new BBL campaign, which begins at home on Friday September 21 against East London Royals: “I’m looking forward to the season.
“I’m comfortable in Sheffield. I like the city, I like the fans and I like the club. It’s a really good fit for me.
“I’ve spoken to Atiba about the team that he’s putting together and I’m really excited about how we’re looking. I think we’ll be contending.”
Based in Toronto during the off-season Tuck said he has been training hard: “I play summer league there to stay in shape and I’ve been working on a few areas of my game to keep on improving.”
Lyons said: “Mike is one of the first guys that I wanted to bring back.
“He’s a quality player that embodies the Sharks. He’s been working hard this summer and is looking forward to helping our new players bed into the BBL. We’re delighted to have him back.”
Sharks are expected to announce more signings this week as Lyons builds his squad ready for pre-season training.
