SHEFFIELD Sharks will have Micah Williams available for this weekend’s matches after the American missed last Friday’s BBL opener against Leicester due to problems with his playing registration.

After spending last season in Japan Williams’ documents hadn’t been forwarded to the British League in time for the first match of the season.

It was a frustration for both the player and the club, who were forced to bring the world governing body - FIBA - in finally sort it out.

Williams will team up with fellow American Gage Daye in the Sheffield backcourt for the visit to Manchester Giants on Friday and for the home game against Surrey Heat on Sunday.

Lyons said he was pleased with Daye’s debut and is looking forward to Williams’ return: “Gage played really well. He tried to make some plays. Micah is a good shooter. It will be good to get him out there.”
