SHEFFIELD Sharks will try and shake off their final second loss at Cheshire Phoenix last weekend when they travel to high-flying Surrey Heat on Sunday.
The Sharks had won three in a row and seemed destined to force overtime in Chester before a controversial call by the referees gave Phoenix the chance to win it from the free throw line.
But veteran forward Andrew Bridge says his teammates should concentrate on their winning run rather than their most recent result.
He said the victory over Glasgow Rocks last Friday shows what the Sharks can do.
“It was a good game against Rocks; we had two of our best performances against them this season,” he said. “They jumped out to a big lead again but we brought it back a little earlier. It was definitely one of our better performance.
“We didn’t play for most of the game against Cheshire but we gave ourselves a chance at the end.
“It was especially disappointing because we were on a three game winning streak, and if we’d have pulled out the win I think we’d have had a good chance to make it five in a row against Surrey and then been on the edge of the play-offs.”
