SHARKS player-coach Atiba Lyons was pleased with the way his team responded to a verbal rocket after falling behind by 18 points against bottom of the table Mersey Tigers on Friday night.
Sheffield ended up winning 94-67 to make it three wins in four matches and sends them to London Lions tomorrow evening full of confidence.
Lyons said: “We didn’t seem motivated or have the right intensity against a team who were desperate for their first victory of the season.
“I thought in the second half we defended really well and started shutting them down. We’re still a young team with guys getting used to playing here, but we’re improving.”
Sharks, who began the season with three losses, have a chance to move into the play-off positions and above the Lions should they win in the capital tomorrow.
