SHEFFIELD Sharks have the chance to keep the pressure on the club’s above them tonight with victory over Guildford Heat at the EIS (7.30pm).

For the first time in three seasons the Sharks aren’t taking part in the BBL Cup final - being played on Sunday between Newcastle Eagles and Plymouth Raiders.

With fixtures re-arranged to accommodate the two finalists the sixth-placed Sharks are one of only five teams who will be in action on Friday or Saturday night. None of the three teams immediately above them in the league (Plymouth, Glasgow and Leicester) have a league match.

However, second-place Worcester Wolves could make ground on leaders Newcastle with two inviting looking fixtures at Mersey Tigers tonight and at home against bottom placed Durham Wildcats tomorrow evening.

Sharks are expected to welcome back Jimmy Langhurst and Justin Dobbins into the squad for tonights match. Both missed last week’s win against Cheshire Jets.
