SHeffield Sharks are moving in the right direction according to player-coach Atiba Lyons after a comfortable win at Durham Wildcats on Saturday night.

The 16 point margin of victory was just reward for one of the Sharks most complete performances of the season.

Forward pair Mike Tuck and Justin Dobbins were both in top form, scoring 20 points each to lead Sharks’ offence.

After a level first quarter Sharks took control to lead 43-39 at half time and 71-57 after three periods.

Sheffield’s lead peaked at 93-75 on a Lyons free throw late in the fourth quarter.

He said: “We had a much better defence performance, and offensively we’re getting it. It was one of our best games for intensity.

“We played hard for 40 minutes, which is what I’m most happy with.

“There’s still a ways to go to shore everything else up but we’re heading in the right direction.”
