SHEFFIELD Sharks are hoping home comforts will lead them into the Play-offs in good form.

Atiba Lyons’ team tip-off their regular season run-in tonight at the EIS with the visit of Mersey Tigers (7.30pm) but will also be in familiar surroundings for another four of their last six matches.

A victory for Sharks over Tigers would rule out any possibility of the Merseyside club from overtaking Sheffield and also boost their hopes of catching Glasgow Rocks in fifth. It’s the third meeting in March between Sharks and Tigers, with the home team coming out on top on each occasion.

Sharks will travel to Worcester Wolves on Saturday night for their final double-header of the season and then face a run of fixtures at home against Cheshire Jets on March 30, Durham Wildcats on April 6, Glasgow on April 13 and Plymouth Raiders on April 20 before finishing their campaign at the Jets on April 22.

Tickets for Great Britain men’s and women’s teams matches in the city in July are now on sale. The men play Portugal on July 14-15 at the Arena and the women take on Angola at Ponds Forge on the 12th, Australia a day later at the Arena and France at Ponds Forge on the 15th.
