Shooting inaccuracy had been an issue for Sharks this season but there was no sign of that against Lions, with three players scoring more than 20 points.

Tuck, who was MVP with 22 points, said: “The guys really stepped up. We scored over 100 and had multiple guys in double figures. We beat a tough London team which was undefeated in the league.

“One of our biggest issues has been not scoring, we’ve had games when we’ve been down in the 50s and 60s and we doubled that which was great to see. We had 50 points by the half way mark.

“It just shows we were really moving the ball – everyone was sharing the ball, no-one was over-dribbling, we were passing well, hitting guys when they were open and guys were shooting the ball with confidence.”

Tuck also lauded stand-in coach Ariel Parrucci, who took over from Atiba Lyons for the London game. “I couldn’t be happier for Ariel, he did a great job.”
